Artist's Description

Annie Oakley
August 13, 1860 November 3, 1926, born Phoebe Ann Moses in Ohio.
At 21 she met her future husband, Frank Butler by defeating him in a shooting match. Injured in a train accident in 1901, this ended her career with the Wild West. Campaigned for women's rights to hold paid employment, earn equal pay, participate in sports, and to defend themselves.
